No artist has ever worked harder to render the
visions of his mind’s eye than M.C.Escher. The images
here are just three of my favorites among his art
pieces on TESSELLATIONS.
Tessellations are arrangements of polygons without
gaps or overlappings, especially in a repeated
pattern.
The top piece he entitled as “Day and Night”.
See how the drawing is divided at the middle with
each side being the day and night scene/s. See also
how the polygons at the middle-bottom “metamorphose”
upward into geese and how they tessellate
towards both sides of the drawing.
